We're having a...

GIRL! Here's her first outfit, complete with a hat (OK, so there's no room for her head in the picture, but you get the idea :). Right now it's lying on the bed in the baby's room, and Fabricio and I like to sneak in there to look at it usually once a day. Fabricio thought for sure it was a boy, so he was pretty surprised when the ultrasound tech said it was a girl! Aside from his initial surprise, he is over the moon. I'm already worried about how much he'll spoil her! ;) I didn't have a strong feeling one way or the other, but I kind of felt from the beginning that it was a girl. I just couldn't commit to my hunch with Fabricio so confident that I was wrong (and you all know how I hate being wrong!) :) Only another 4 months until we get to meet her!

Crib & Dresser

We finally purchased our dresser & crib this weekend. We've been looking for WEEKS, and were really happy that we finally found something we like! We bought the dresser & crib from USA Baby. They anticipate a 10-12 week delivery, but to be honest, we're hoping it takes that long since we're only 21 weeks! This is the dresser. I couldn't find a picture of the right color (we got oak, which is shown below).
Here's the crib. (I didn't like the dresser in this set, which is why we got the one above.) I'm sure Fabricio is looking forward to putting these together~he'll probably be looking for some help!

20 week ultrasound

Here's the baby's profile from our 20 week ultrasound. Fortunately everything looks great! It was so amazing to see how big the baby has gotten in the last 9 weeks.

This is the foot that has been kicking me! I can definitely feel the baby moving now, which is a nice comfort to know that everything is going fine. I'm just a little apprehensive about what it will feel like when the kicks get stronger! ;)

And a final picture of the baby waving. We know the gender, but are keeping it to ourselves for a little while. But don't worry, we'll post the info soon!

First Baby Toys!

Memorial Day weekend we visited Angie, Dave, and Lily Quale (Angie & Dave's adorable 10 1/2 month old daughter.) Lily was kind enough to let us borrow her bouncer and swing!! Thanks Lily! We're about ready to purchase the crib and dresser. While it seems like we have FOREVER until the baby comes, we figure that the next 20 weeks are going to fly by and we'd better be ready!
We also signed up for Childbirth & Parenting Preparation class at the hospital. We feel quite unprepared and feel that (for us) the more information the better. So, we signed up for the extended class, which is 8 weeks long (2 1/2 hours per week)!! I know! That's a lot of time to spend in class. Hopefully we retain some of the information! ;)

18 weeks

I'm almost caught up with the blog, as this is a picture from 18 weeks (May 21). There must be something about a growth spurt and me being tired - I noticed that in the last 2 pictures I've had my hair in a ponytail b/c I was too tired to style it in the morning! And no, I'm not sticking my stomach out, as Fabricio will sometimes accuse me. :)
I'm pretty sure I've felt the baby move by now, although not 100%. My OB is certain that I have, but since it happens so quickly and infrequently, it's hard to know for sure.
So, now I'm only 2 weeks behind in posting this blog; hopefully I'll get caught up this weekend!
