Work Shower

My co-workers threw me a shower on Sept 12. I work with such a great group of people!!! Plus, this was my first baby shower, so I had so much fun opening gifts and seeing all the cute baby clothes/toys/blankets/etc. I was able to get everything put away this past weekend, which was a good thing b/c it was starting to look pretty chaotic around here!
Lots of great food and fun conversations. They had a contest to guess the baby's weight (most guesses were between 6-8 lbs; hopefully someone was righ!) Plus, the cake was delicious (chocolate with chocolate frosting)! YUM!
And yes, someone told me the shirt makes me look huge (she was just making fun of me). Fortunately, at 35 weeks it's pretty much a given that I look huge! ;)

The travel system is ready!

The weekend after Labor Day we (OK, Fabricio) put together the travel system. It wasn't the easiest thing to do, as the directions were horrible! It was mostly just pictures and a few comments like "Snap!". OK, this isn't a comic book, so what's with the "Snap"? The wheels were the worst part, and for a few minutes there we thought we were going to have to return it or at least call Graco for some help! Fortunately, everything is put together, and we even know how to install the car seat base! At least if the baby comes early we'll have something to take her home in!

Finally, INS documents burned!

We finally had the chance to burn our INS documents over Labor Day weekend! Some of the documents were 6 years old (or more!) so it was about time. :) We almost had to cancel again because the wood wasn't catching fire (it was a little damp.) Fortunately, Dad and Fabricio were able to douse it with lighter fluid, and away we went! It's so nice not to have that big container of documents shoved in the closet anymore! :)

New bedding set (yes, it's different)

Yes, I changed my mind! I couldn't get myself excited over the Clover Fields bedding, and this bedding set (Love Bug) just came out. I absolutely love it! Plus, the brown and pink matches the travel system we're getting. :) I know the baby won't care, but I love the color combination and design. Can you blame me? It's adorable! It won't be "too" pink in her room, because the walls are blue and tan, but the pink and brown add a nice contrast. We just have to get new curtains, because they're bright red! :) Oh! I just remembered that the crib and dresser are ready to go. Fabricio and my dad spent a couple of hours putting them together on Aug 13. It didn't take nearly as long as we (I) thought; they had them both done within 2 1/2 hours. The furniture is beautiful, even if the room is a little crowded (we have a full-size bed in the room, but that will go into storage probably in February.) Fabricio's parents and brother are coming up to visit for Christmas (YEAH!) so we need the extra bed.

Baby things sent with love from Ecuador

These are handmade items (from Fabricio's aunt Marina - his mom's sister) that they sent to us. The mittens and booties are obviously for the baby, but the other (little) items are things to decorate and give away at a baby shower. They've been busy and having a lot of fun!
